166th Ancaster Fair

The 166th Ancaster Fair is presented by the Ancaster Agricultural Society.

The Ancaster Agricultural Society (A.A.S.) is a member based non-profit charitable organization, incorporated in 1850 under the Agricultural and Horticultural Organizations Act.

Our theme for 2016 is “A Farmers Point of View”.

The Ancaster Fair is a long standing family tradition, located in rural Ancaster, in the Hamilton region, where city meets the country.

HSR Hamilton Bus Service is provided at McNab Stations and Meadowlands..

There is nightly music on the main stage with beer gardens and midway.

Demolition Derby on Friday and Saturday nights.

  •  No dogs or cats are permitted on the grounds during Ancaster Fair, with the exception of service animals and our Sunday afternoon School Fair Pet Show.
  •  Gate entry is cash only. ATM’s are located within the grounds. Presale tickets are available on-line or at Scotiabank Branches.
  •  All gates close at 9pm Thursday-Saturday. Buildings close at 10pm Thursday-Saturday. Midway closes at 11pm Thursday-Saturday.
  •  Sunday gates close at 5pm. Midway and buildings close at 6pm.

For all of you Equipment History Buffs, the Ancaster Fair Heritage Committee is pleased to announce a special exhibit for the 2016 Fair.  Located in the Heritage Square will be honoring the Sawyer-Massey Company, the firm built Steam portables and traction engines initially.  The Massey family took a personnel stake in the company. a long time manufacturer that was located on Wellington and Victoria streets in Hamilton. There will be many pieces of equipment on view including steam engines, threshing machines and road building equipment. There will also be a special tent housing photographs and memorabilia. Included will be a recreation of a 1918 Sawyer-Massey display that was at the Toronto exhibition.

Visitors are welcome and encouraged to bring any memorabilia from the company along with memories of relatives who may have worked there.

Admission to the fair is ten dollars for adults, five for students and pre-schoolers can enter for free. The Ancaster Fair is a wonderful family event. See you at the Fair!
