Volunteers

The Ancaster Agricultural Society relies largely on volunteers to carry out our programs and events. We are always looking for more volunteers!

Volunteering is a great way to give back to your community, and meet new people. The Ancaster Agricultural Society relies largely on volunteers to carry out our programs and events.  We are always looking for more volunteers! We offer a large variety of volunteer tasks throughout the year. You don’t have to be a member to volunteer, but as the saying goes, membership does have its privileges so be sure to check out the membership link here.

Students needing volunteer hours

We have many student volunteer opportunities at the Ancaster Fair in September. For example, parking duty, assisting in our hospitality suite, manning a waste management booth, help with various equestrian and livestock shows, grounds clean up, assisting kid’s crafts, assisting with “fair fun” and entertainment stages, set up and take down in Marritt Hall, and much more!

Other opportunities include help with Summer Camp (July), Education Days (April), garage sale set up and take down (March & November), horse stall clean out in the summer months, office help, etc.

Do you enjoy Gardening?

If you have a green thumb and some time, this job is for you! We are looking for someone to look after our flowerbeds in front of The Marritt Hall for the season.  This job includes weeding, planting annuals, mulching, and trimming.

Office Help

As we prepare for the Fair, we often need help in the office, getting mailings out, stuffing envelopes, updating lists, sorting ribbons, and more.

Work Bee’s

Our Fairgrounds are busy year-round.  The hard work of our volunteers is what allows the A.A.S to be as successful and we couldn’t do it without all of our hardworking volunteers.

Check back often for scheduled work bee’s events that arise throughout the year!
