Scholarships
The Ancaster Agricultural Society is pleased to be able to support continuing education by offering a scholarship for post secondary studies.
The Ancaster Agricultural Society Scholarships will be awarded to two qualified individuals who are pursuing post secondary education in a course leading to a degree or diploma.
Each applicant will type a short essay based on the following question:
“How could AAS increase the involvement of youth volunteers, 12-30 years, at the fairgrounds?”
Eligibility
Any full-time student at a post-secondary institution registered in a course leading to a degree or diploma, who is a resident in the City of Hamilton.
And must meet at least one of the following requirements to qualify:
Ancaster Agricultural Society Volunteer
Ancaster Agricultural Society Exhibitor
Junior Farmer Member
4-H Member

Each application must include the following:

Applicants most recent transcript
A letter confirming the applicant’s involvement in agricultural affairs from a non-family member
A letter of character reference from a non-family member
Write a short essay on the following topic: “How could AAS increase the involvement of youth volunteers, 12-30 years, at the fairgrounds?”

Applications must be received by June 30 of the year of the application.
Scholarships will be announced prior to August 31. Money will only be forwarded upon proof of acceptance to a post-secondary institution.
Procedure
A selection committee composed of past-presidents of the Ancaster Agricultural Society and the Homecraft Division will judge the applications.
All applications must be forwarded to the Ancaster Agricultural Society office and the envelopes are to remain sealed.
Applications are to be opened on July 1st by the Secretary-Treasurer.
Money will be forwarded upon proof of payment of tuition to the post-secondary school.
